Airport Security Officer – Ameri jet International
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

SMI Security Services is currently hiring Security Officers for our Ameri jet international account at Miami International Airport.

We are seeking professional, dependable, and motivated candidates to join our aviation security team. Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced airport cargo environment while maintaining the safety and security of personnel, facilities, and assets.

Pay Rate: $21.91 per hour

Position Overview:

Security Officers assigned to the Amerijet International account will be responsible for maintaining security operations throughout warehouse and cold-storage facilities. Officers will rotate between various assignments, including cooler security, checkpoint operations, foot patrols, and golf cart patrols.

Candidates must be comfortable working in refrigerated environments for extended periods and be able to adapt to different security assignments throughout their shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor and secure designated warehouse and cargo areas.
• Perform security patrols on foot and by golf cart.
• Staff security checkpoints and control access to restricted areas
• Verify employee, visitor, and contractor credentials.
• Observe and report suspicious activities, safety concerns, and security violations.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports.
• Enforce company policies and security procedures.
• Assist with maintaining a safe and secure environment throughout the facility.

Work Environment:

This position requires officers to work in a refrigerated cooler environment with temperatures ranging from 35°F to 46°F for up to 8 hours per shift .

Officers will work a combination of:

• Cooler assignments.
• Warehouse security checkpoints.
• Foot patrols.
• Golf cart patrols.
• Candidates must be able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods while working in varying warehouse conditions.

Qualifications:

• Active Florida Security D License.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Reliable transportation.
• Previous security experience preferred.
• Ability to work in cold-temperature environments for extended periods.

Security Clearance Requirements:

Due to airport security regulations, all candidates must successfully complete a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background investigation , including:

• Fingerprinting.
• Criminal history review.
• Security threat assessment.
• All airport badging requirements.

Employment is contingent upon successfully passing all required TSA and airport security screenings.
