Assembler

Industry: Plastics Manufacturing

Location: Kentwood, MI

Shift: 1st Shift 8am-5pm Monday-Friday

Pay: $18.50/hr

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembler with strong blueprint reading skills to join our growing plastics manufacturing team. This role involves assembling plastic components and subassemblies according to engineering drawings and production specifications.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and work instructions
• Assemble plastic components, housings, and mechanical subassemblies
• Use hand and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, torque tools, and pneumatic tools
• Install hardware including fasteners, inserts, brackets, and fittings
• Perform quality checks to ensure parts meet dimensional and cosmetic standards
• Identify and report discrepancies or defects
• Maintain accurate production documentation
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
• Support team members to meet daily production goals

Qualifications

• Previous assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Basic measuring tool knowledge (calipers, tape measure, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• High school diploma or GED preferred
