General Manager – Wine Bar & Tasting Room

The Wine Room by JBell Wine Co. is seeking an experienced hospitality leader to manage and grow our boutique wine tasting room in Louisville .

This role is for someone who believes great hospitality creates community . Our tasting room brings people together over thoughtfully selected wines, seasonal food, and welcoming service.

We are looking for a leader who can own the guest experience, inspire a team, and help build a destination for wine lovers in a city best known for bourbon .

The Role

As General Manager, you will oversee daily operations while shaping the culture and experience of the tasting room.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead daily operations of the tasting room and wine bar
• Hire, train, and mentor a hospitality-driven team
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences and cultivate regular guests
• Grow wine club memberships and repeat customers
• Plan and execute tastings, wine dinners, and events
• Manage inventory, scheduling, and operational systems
• Work with ownership to grow the brand and guest community

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being present with guests while building a strong hospitality culture.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3–5+ years hospitality leadership experience
• Background in restaurants, boutique hotels, wine bars, or private clubs
• Strong ability to lead teams and build guest relationships
• Passion for hospitality and creating memorable experiences
• Interest in wine (wine knowledge is helpful but not required)

Wine knowledge can be learned — great hospitality instincts are essential.

Compensation

We offer a competitive compensation package designed to reward leadership and growth.

• $60,000 – $70,000 base salary
• Performance bonuses tied to wine club growth and event success
