A national healthcare leader headquartered in Charlotte is seeking a highly analytical and execution-focused HRIS Data & Systems Consultant . This is not a "ticket-based" support role. Instead, you will take an assertive, project-based lead in identifying and resolving complex system issues arising from a recent software conversion.
The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, works with urgency, and brings structure to complex data challenges. You will be expected to independently assess problem statements, define the scope of effort, and deliver documented, production-ready outcomes.
How This Role OperatesThis position is designed for a "fixer" who can move from one priority to the next:
Assess: Evaluate a discrete problem or system gap.
Define: Determine the approach, dependencies, and estimated effort.
Execute: Resolve the issue independently with minimal oversight.
Deliver: Provide the output along with clear documentation for the internal team.
Solution Design: Evaluate ambiguous HRIS/data issues and translate them into structured work plans and recommended fixes.
Deep Data Audits: Perform root-cause analysis across SAP SuccessFactors and downstream systems; build reconciliation and validation frameworks.
System Optimization: Identify gaps in processes (e.g., position management, transfers, integrations) and implement scalable improvements.
Execution: Deliver clean datasets, audit outputs, and root-cause summaries that move beyond "one-off" fixes.
Knowledge Transfer: Provide structured documentation of the problem, approach, and solution to enable the internal team to sustain outcomes post-contract.
Years of Experience: 5 10+ years in HRIS, HR Technology, or HR Data roles.
Core System: Strong hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors (Employee Central is required).
Technical Skills: Advanced Excel expertise is non-negotiable (Pivot tables, complex formulas, data reconciliation). Power Query experience is strongly preferred.
Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to perform root-cause analysis on large, complex datasets across multiple systems.
Independence: Ability to scope work independently and provide accurate estimates of effort.
Experience with Payroll systems (SAP ECP, ADP) or Workforce Management tools.
Background in post-implementation stabilization environments.
Experience building custom audit tools or automated data validation frameworks.
