Job Title - Junior Data Analyst (Data/Ticket Triage)
Location - 100% Remote - Prefers Mountain or Central time zones
Duration - 6 Months Contract to hire
Work Schedule: 9am 5pm MST preferred



MUST HAVE :
1-2 years of professional work experience (data analyst, business analyst, tech support)
Some coding language background ( Python ) or some SQL knowledge

AI experience understanding how to use it responsibly and increase productivity. Knows how to use AI to do a non-technical task faster.
Understands workflow of data movement from databases and understand workflow of ETL


Primary Responsibilities:
Triage Data Issues: Investigate L2/L3 support tickets - dig into the data, write queries to narrow down problems, and document findings clearly for the team or engineering.
Ad-Hoc Data Delivery: Field data requests and custom exports for internal teams. You'll learn to juggle competing priorities quickly.
Pipeline Support: Build working knowledge of our data pipeline architecture. Learn where data flows, where it can break, and start spotting issues early.
Data Validation & QC: Check spatial and tabular datasets for accuracy before they reach clients or leadership. Attention to detail matters here .
GIS Support: Assist the GIS Expert with spatial data updates as needed
Data Feed Integration: Help onboard new data sources into our ETL pipeline, from initial setup through validation
AI-Assisted Problem Solving: Use LLMs and AI tools to debug faster, learn unfamiliar systems, and optimize queries - responsibly and with good judgment.



Primary Technologies Required:
SQL - You can write queries beyond basic SELECTs. JOINs, filtering, aggregations - you're comfortable exploring data, not just exporting it.
Coding exposure - Python, R, or scripting. You don't need to be a developer, but you've written code and you're not intimidated by it.
Familiarity with ticketing workflows - JIRA, Asana, or similar. You understand how work gets tracked and prioritized.
Version control (Git) - You understand commits, branches, and pull requests Experience and Mindset Needed:
0-2 years in a data, technical support, or engineering-adjacent role.
You're curious and resourceful - you'll search docs, ask an LLM, and test things before raising your hand.
You care about getting the data right.
You can handle context-switching and don't need everything spelled out for you.
You communicate clearly in writing - tickets, Slack, and documentation are a big part of this role.
You want to grow into data engineering, not just stay in reporting.

Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies. Bonus Points:
Familiarity with spatial data formats (GeoJSON, Shapefiles) or GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS).
Exposure to ETL concepts, data warehousing, or pipeline tools (Airflow, dbt, etc.).
Experience with BI/visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
Background in tourism, marketing, SaaS, or agency data.
You already use AI tools in your workflow and can talk about how.
