Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Flexible Start Time
$55,000–$60,000 DOE
This role plays a key part in supporting payroll operations for over 700 employees across more than 90 locations statewide. While we partner with an external payroll provider, this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and coordination of all payroll-related data on our end.
This is also a critical support role to the VP of Human Resources, helping ensure payroll and HR operations continue smoothly and accurately.

You won’t just support payroll — you’ll help own and stabilize it.
Payroll Administration & Coordination
Serve as the primary internal point of contact for payroll operations
Prepare, review, and submit payroll-related data to an external payroll provider/PEO
Review payroll reports and registers for accuracy
Manage payroll adjustments, corrections, and reconciliations
Oversee timekeeping systems and ensure accuracy across locations
Track PTO, reimbursements, and special pay items
Administer payroll-related deductions (benefits, childcare discounts, etc.)
Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
HR Operations & Onboarding
Complete onboarding processes, including I-9 verification
Set up employees in HRIS/payroll systems
Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
Support background checks and compliance tracking
Ensure onboarding steps are completed accurately and on time
Keep filing up to date
Compliance & Process Oversight
Ensure payroll and HR processes align with applicable regulations
Maintain audit-ready documentation and reports
Identify and recommend process improvements
Support outside audits and reporting needs
Operational Support
Partner closely with the VP of HR to support department operations
Provide support to ensure payroll processes continue smoothly and on schedule, including during absences or high-volume periods
Support HR initiatives and cross-functional projects
✔️ 3+ years of mid-level payroll administration or HR/payroll experience
✔️ Strong understanding of payroll processes, deductions, and timekeeping systems
✔️ Experience working with a payroll provider, PEO, or outsourced payroll model
✔️ High attention to detail and accuracy
✔️ Ability to manage payroll-related processes independently
✔️ Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
✔️ Professional communication skills across all levels
✔️ Proficiency in Word, Excel and HR/payroll systems
✔️ Strong ability to prioritize tasks and remain focused in a dynamic environment with frequent interruptions
Experience with HRIS or payroll platforms (PRISM, ADP, Paylocity, etc.)
Experience supporting multi-site organizations
Familiarity with Hawaiʻi payroll and employment practices
This role is based in our Kailua office.
