Job Title: Real Estate Portfolio Manager
Location: Chicago, IL 60642 (Remote OK; Chicago preferred)
Duration: 12 Months
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Seeking a Real Estate Portfolio Manager to serve as the primary point of contact for real estate strategy and execution across a laboratory-focused portfolio (primarily North America). This role leads portfolio planning, transaction management, lease negotiations, and cost optimization while partnering with business leaders and third-party providers to deliver high-quality real estate services.
Develop and execute portfolio strategies aligned with business objectives
Manage real estate transactions, including leases, acquisitions, and dispositions
Oversee third-party providers using KPIs and governance frameworks
Own total cost of occupancy metrics and portfolio performance reporting
Lead capital and operating budget planning
Ensure compliance with real estate governance and internal standards
Manage landlord relationships and serve as escalation point for regional issues
Partner cross-functionally within REFM and business leadership
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
5+ years of experience in corporate real estate, transaction, or portfolio management
Strong lease negotiation and contract management skills
Experience managing outsourced providers and KPIs
Budgeting experience (capital and operating)
Strong stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills
Familiarity with real estate systems and portfolio analytics tools
