Overview of the role:
The Video Editor (US) is a key member of PokerNews’ global digital media team, responsible for producing, editing, and delivering high-impact video content across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, and PokerNews.com.
Based in Nevada, you will be the primary on-the-ground video creator for US poker events, including the WSOP and major North American tours, as well as travel across the world to other events. You’ll capture interviews, short-form content, behind-the-scenes footage, and dynamic storytelling moments that bring the poker world to life.
Outside of events, the Video Editor (US) will contribute to the day-to-day video output of PokerNews, such as (SEO) videos, contributing to PokerNews productions such as the PokerNews Podcast, and other ad-hoc video deliverables.
This role blends shooting, editing, creativity, and fast-turnaround production — ideal for a self-sufficient creator who thrives in live environments and knows how to make poker content pop.
What you'll do:
Video Production & Editing
Edit short-form videos (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts) and long-form YouTube content.
Deliver fast-turnaround edits from live events, sometimes same-day.
Maintain PokerNews’ visual style, pacing, and storytelling standards.
Work closely with Digital Media Manager on creative briefs and concepts.
On-Site Shooting (US Events)
Capture player interviews, reactions, lifestyle footage, and poker culture moments.
Record high-quality audio and video while working solo or with a reporter/host.
Coordinate with editorial, PR, and events teams to plan daily content capture.
Represent PokerNews professionally at major festivals.
Social-First Content
Create platform-optimized edits for Facebook, Instagram, X, and YouTube Shorts.
Experiment with trends, formats, and creative hooks that resonate with poker fans.
Work with US Social team and Digital Media Manager to align with social strategy.
Creative Development
Suggest and contribute to new concepts, formats, and recurring video series.
Collaborate with global creators to keep PokerNews’ content fresh and competitive.
Help evolve the PokerNews brand tone and creative identity in video.
File & Workflow Management
Maintain organized project files and media libraries.
Follow naming conventions and export standards.
Support cross-team video requests efficiently
What you'll bring:
Demonstrated experience in video editing or content creation (news, sports, esports, or poker preferred).
Skilled in Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects a plus).
Understanding of social-first editing (punchy hooks, pacing, captions, trends).
Ability to work in fast-paced event environments with minimal oversight.
Strong communicator and natural collaborator.
Must reside in Nevada or be willing to relocate.
Poker knowledge is a major advantage.
