The Junior Medical Data Analyst performs varied and complex diagnostic and procedural coding for E/M leveling and APC accuracy.
One year demonstrated ED diagnostic and procedural coding experience preferably in a computerized/electronic environment in an academic medical center
Provide evidence of successfully completed coding course in ICD9CM, CPT4, HCPCS, E&M and applicable grouper coding schemes
One year of related ED or facility level E&M coding experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education
Pass skills assessment consisting of a representative sample of ED services at NYPH for all promotion/hires
Proficient computer skills, including experience with clinical information systems for accessing health information in an electronic environment
Good interpersonal and communication skills
