Position Summary

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth across A New Leaf’s retail and garden center operations while ensuring an exceptional customer experience and a supportive, inclusive environment for staff and clients.

This role owns sales planning and performance, supervises retail staff across locations, leads merchandising and events, and identifies new revenue opportunities—balancing strong business results with our social mission.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Growth

  • Develop and execute monthly and seasonal sales plans to meet or exceed revenue goals
  • Expand sales with existing customers and cultivate new business opportunities
  • Drive revenue through key offerings such as seasonal plants, Planting Bars, poinsettias, and special events
  • Monitor customer sales patterns, trends, and competitor activity to inform strategy
  • Identify emerging retail and consumer trends aligned with the brand

Retail Operations & Merchandising

  • Oversee all retail locations to ensure they are fully staffed, well-stocked, and customer-ready
  • Lead visual merchandising, displays, signage execution, and seasonal setups
  • Partner with leadership to track inventory needs, best sellers, and back-stock efficiency
  • Ensure retail environments are welcoming, professional, and donor-friendly

Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise and support retail staff, job coaches, and clients in a respectful, inclusive manner
  • Set clear expectations and model professional customer service and sales behaviors
  • Balance entrepreneurial goals with A New Leaf’s social service mission
  • Ensure safe, supportive working environments for all individuals served

Reporting & Collaboration

  • Maintain weekly, monthly, and seasonal sales reports
  • Communicate sales performance, trends, and inventory needs to leadership
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Horticulture, and Program teams

Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical retail tasks (bending, stooping, lifting)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and seasonal events
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to following all A New Leaf policies and procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a mission-driven mindset

Qualifications

  • Minimum age: 21
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Sales experience required; retail merchandising experience preferred
  • Supervisory or leadership experience required
  • Strong math skills, including percentages and sales calculations
  • Positive, customer-focused attitude and a desire to support individuals with disabilities
  • Physical ability to conduct training involving manual labor

Special Requirements

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
  • OSBI criminal background check and Community Services Registry clearance required
  • Clean driving record
  • Employment is at-will
